Now that I discovered the niche that I wanted to use I had to find a good domain name for that niche, grab it from a domain hoster and evaluate hosting options. I knew that I had to pay roughly $10 per year for the domain name and I decided to search for a host where I did not have to pay more than $5 per month. This would mean that I could operate the website for $70 per year which would be still under my budget, but since I want to achieve results in three months I did calculate $25 for hosting and domain for that time.

I was ill the last few days and will be ill for the next 1-2 weeks which has the result that I can’t do as much SEO as I would like to do. I still wanted to give you an updated on the progress that I made so far. The good news is that I’m already ranking under the top 100 for three related keywords which is a good progress if you consider the amount of time that I spend to far and that I did not do any SEO – off page that is – yet.

Finding the niche is the most important part. You can have the best webhost, the best domain name, godlike SEO but no traffic if you pick a niche that no one is searching for. A good niche requires more than just a solid search volume, it should also have medium to low competition. It does not make sense to target the mortgage niche for example because that niche is highly competitive. Targeting medium to low competitive niches requires less work to achieve incredible results. Last but not least it should be a niche that you can make money with which might not be as easy as it sounds.

Webmasters fail because of a number of reasons and while some can simply not be attributed as a mistake on their part some can. Everything is fine and shiny at the beginning. You pick a domain name, create a website or pick a theme for a blog and start writing articles. And then.. nothing.
