When I was a beginning webmaster who wanted to make a fortune on the Internet I never understood why top bloggers and webmasters would never reveal their websites url or niche unless they would use it to establish their name on the Internet. Most webmasters will not reveal urls or niches and this has the sole reason of protecting their assets.

I came to realize this after establishing my first successful website as well. If you do reveal a successful niche or website other webmasters will try to replicate the success. If you take my latest project for example. I have top spots in Google and Yahoo and only one other website that writes about the same subject.

If I would disclose that I would earn hundreds of Dollars from that website after just a month of creating it it would surely lead to other webmasters who would create websites in that niche as well. Most will get a piece of the cake and some, with enough money or resources will eventually replace my website as the top site in that niche.

That’s the main reason why no serious webmaster who is successful in a niche will publish his earnings, url, keywords or topic on his website unless this is being used as a way to establish a name or service that they offer.

Take Stompernet for example. They released those Going Natural 2 videos lately and have been showing some websites where they rank highly in the search engines. It was a medieval weapons website that they showed to show the viewers that they know what they are talking about, that they tried and tested what they have been talking about in the videos and that it is indeed working.

Webmasters with a certain image are also revealing information about their website and how they make the money. Take John Chow for example, he is revealing his earnings every month so that everyone can see how he earns the money with his website. Sites like his have led to a massive creation of  Make Money Online blogs which is one of the effects of revealing your niche that I have described above.

The only problem that all those Make Money Online blogs have is that this niche is special. It’s not only about the content of the blog, the image of the blog is as important. I heard it more than once that people referred to John Chow and his 20K+ per month. If you ask them what he is writing about or what he has written lately they normally don’t know or say, he is writing about making money on the Internet.

This is not really the whole truth but I do not want to get into details here. Just take a look at this blog and count the eating, party articles plus the review me articles and all the others that are not related to making money and you know what I mean.
