There are literally hundreds of pay per click Adsense alternatives and I do not have the resources to evaluate each of them. The problem that all of them have is that they do not have the massive reach of Google Adsense. Those programs have to work with a limited amount of advertisers. This leads to a few problems; It does not actually have to mean that you will make less per click but it - most of the time - means that the ads displayed will not be that context related which will result in fewer clicks and thus lower revenue.

I made some tests on a website of mine where Google Adsense was constantly earning about $100 per day. Changing advertisers resulted in a revenue drop of 80-90% of the earnings that the website generated with Google Adsense. I was not able to test YPN which seems to generate better revenue than most of the other PPC advertisers, still it does so only for US traffic mainly.

Below is a list of advertisers that I have tried as an alternative to Google Adsense.

BidVertiser:

If you read through forum posts where users are asking for Adsense alternatives you can be sure that someone will mention Bidvertiser. Bidvertiser actually pays between $.10 and $.20 per click which is a very good value. The major problem however is that they CTR rate is abysmal. Even with blended ads and the best position I was never able to reach a CTR of more than .20%. Google Adsense reached a CTR of 3-4% on the same site and spot.

The major problem here is that Bidvertiser does not have enough advertisers to produce enough context related ads which means that visitors will not find the ads that helpful and will not click on them that often.

Pro:

  • good pay per click revenue normally between $0.10 to $0.20
  • payment via PayPal or Cheque
  • minimum payout for Paypal is $10, for cheque $50
  • customizable ads (one where the font can be changed)
  • good variety of ad formats
  • all ads that are displayed on your website are shown in your Bidvertiser profile

Con:

  • ads are not context related
  • Bidvertiser above all horizontal ads
  • low CTR because of those two

TTZ Media:

TTZ Media are displaying shopping related advertisements on your website. Ads always include links, images and prices and webmasters can choose the keywords that should be used to find ads for your website.

Pro:

  • webmasters are paid a fix sum per click depending on their monthly clicks.
  • minimum payout per click is $.15, for 1000-2000 clicks it is $.18, for 200-4000 it is $.022 and finally for 4000+ it is $.25 per click
  • webmasters can select the items that are displayed by providing keywords which means related ads for your website, but not the individual pages
  • payouts require a minimum of $25 in the account at the end of the month

Con:

  • Website sometimes unresponsive
  • Stats are not detailed enough
  • Earnings are audited at the end of the month which can lower your earnings
  • CTR is quite low as well because of the ads that are displayed.
  • Users will click less because of the prices shown
