If you are a webmaster you surely know the website Sitepoint which, among other things, has a nice marketplace where webmasters can sell and buy websites, services, templates and everything else that is webmaster related. Sitepoint has probably the nicest layout of all webmaster forums that offer a marketplace. It still is only a forum and you have to click on a sale thread to view the details. With dozens of new threads each day this can be a very repetitive task.

When I analyze competitors I do a so called whois on the owner of the domain name, and all other contacts listed in the domain whois, to find out more about their background. Is the competitor a large cooperation, an individual, an organization ? This is important to know because it could keep you from trying to get more backlinks to your website than a company with a advertising budget that exceeds your annual income.

I encountered a new layout for the Adsense 468×60 ad units that Google seems to test at the moment. Normally the text Google appears in the right lower corner of the ad unit but on this ad unit it appeared on the upper left. This will, in my opinion, severely reduce the click through rate of that ad unit especially if you place it in your content and not in some place on the top of the page.

I have been testing Bidvertiser as a publisher the last week and have to say that the advertiser has lots of potential and that the correct choice of ads can increase the daily earnings.
